With holiday parties right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to rock a red lip! So getting the most wear from your favourite lipstick is a must! Here are a few simple tricks that I use that can help your lipstick last.
Lip Primer – Before beginning to apply your makeup put on a thin coat of lip primer, here I used Mac’s Prep n Prime Lip. This will get your lips ready, acting as a foundation so your lipstick will glide on smoother. The primer will also prevent your lipstick from bleeding and it will help it last a lot longer.
Lip Liner – Begin by using your favourite lip pencil, here I used Mac Lip Pencil in “Cherry.” Begin in the centre of the lip and trace toward the outer part of your lips. Once the lips are lined, use the same pencil to fill them in. This step will also help with the wear of your lip colour.
Lipstick – One of the things that will help your lipstick look flawless is to use a lip brush to apply the lipstick instead of using it directly from the tube. Dip the lip brush into the lipstick and pack the colour onto the lips. Once you fill in the entire lip, go ahead and apply a second coat of colour.
Concealer – To sharpen the edges of the lips and to give them a clean finish, use a flat concealer brush along with a concealer like Mac Pro Longwear Concealer to clean up the edges.
Having flawless lips with colour that will last is simple. These easy steps will make sure your lips stay looking great all night.
